Shine to Shimmer is based at Kirsty's home.

I am a qualified Nail Technician who is able to provide standard manicures and pedicures through to Acrylic Extensions and most nail services in between.

I also have a Degree in Arts and a Bachelor of Science which has allowed the geek in me to enjoy the chemical aspects of nail products and systems and love the art that goes into the creation of a set of nails unique to each client and each visit.

So how did I choose to become a nail tech?

For me tidy nails was a symbol of a person who has 'got it all together', even from a young age.

I have always noticed peoples hands and if they had tidy nails (Males and Females) I was left with the impression of self care and tidy appearance. The nails did not need to be painted, just manicured and clean.

I can probably lay the blame for this perception firmly at my Grandmothers door as she was big on personal presentation and leaving the house clean and tidy.

The behind of my ears are shiny for life from the scrubbing they received when I was little.

So like most women hitting their 40's I needed something that inspired me, that left me feeling creatively fulfilled and that I could have a passion for. I already have a full time career as a Software Consultant/Developer which I love but I needed something for me on a more soul happy level.

As a child and young adult I bit my nails but have overcome the habit with sheer determination to have tidy nails, so I found myself drawn to the profession of a Nail Tech because of that also.

My goal is to provide all clients with nails they can feel proud of, regardless of personal habits, age or gender and that my clients can go about their day to day feeling better than they might have.
